Meet Catherine

Long before Catherine considered running for Town Council, East Gwillimbury was simply home.

More than 50 years ago, Catherine's grandparents purchased a farm on Warden Avenue in Queensville, planting roots that continue today. Born in Newmarket, Catherine has spent most of her life in the community she now proudly calls home. Today, she and her husband, Eric, are raising their family in East Gwillimbury, creating a new generation of memories in the place that has shaped so much of their lives.

For more than 12 years, Catherine built her career in public service, working alongside municipalities, residents, businesses, and government partners across Ontario. Through this work, she gained firsthand insight into how local government works, the challenges facing growing communities, and the importance of listening, asking thoughtful questions, and making informed decisions.

Experience & Leadership

Catherine has continued to invest in the knowledge and experience she believes strong leadership requires.

Her background includes Real Property Administration at Seneca Polytechnic, a Certificate in Real Property Assessment & Appraisal through the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business, the Municipal Administration Program through AMCTO, and York University's Certificate in Product Management. She is also an Accredited Municipal Assessor (AIMA).

Beyond her professional work, Catherine has served on Seneca Polytechnic's Real Property Administration Advisory Committee and held leadership positions with the Institute of Municipal Assessors, including District Director and Vice-Chair.

For Catherine, experience isn't about having all the answers. It's about understanding the facts, considering different perspectives, and knowing the right questions to ask.

Rooted in Community

Catherine's connection to East Gwillimbury extends well beyond her professional life. As a proud Eagles, Talons, and Kodiaks mom, she has spent countless hours in local arenas and on local fields supporting her children and nephews.

She founded Heart & Harvest, a grassroots initiative that brings together volunteers, local businesses, and community partners to prepare and deliver home-cooked meals to people in need.

Catherine has also supported local charities and community initiatives, including Belinda's Place, Inn From the Cold, Youth Haven, Canadian Blood Services, and local Earth Day cleanups. With the support of the community, she also led an initiative that collected and sent 4,000 feminine hygiene products to women and girls in Ukraine.

Through volunteering, community involvement, and small business ownership, Catherine has seen what can happen when people come together around a shared purpose. For her, community means showing up, helping where you can, and finding practical ways to make a difference.

East Gwillimbury has shaped Catherine’s life, from the family roots planted here more than 50 years ago to the community where she is now raising her own family.

She’s running for responsible growth, respect for tax dollars, and a strong voice for residents.

Catherine wants to bring her experience, willingness to listen, and commitment to doing the work to Town Council—asking the hard questions, making informed decisions, and helping ensure East Gwillimbury grows in a way that works for the people who call it home.
